Georgine’s tips for July.
There are a lot of good deals going on in July.
If exercise is your thing, try negotiating a month-to-month membership at your favorite gym. Summer months prove to be lighter due to vacations and parental obligations, so your favorite work-out place will want to fill their quota.
Furniture and kitchen appliances such as refrigerators, ranges, and microwaves will be on sale by the middle of the month to make room for new lines.
As summer heads toward the midpoint look for lawn and garden supplies sales. Especially look for items you can use next year. Grills will dip in price after the Fourth of July.
Taking a trip? Las Vegas hotel rates are as low as they go. Hurricane season means cruises and Caribbean Island trips are very negotiable.
What’s left of summer clothing will be reduced because, believe it or not, the stores are readying for back-to-school. Look for beach towels and swimsuit bargains too.
Party supplies, after the Fourth of July, will be on sale. Think solid colors that can be used all year long, as well as anything you can use for Labor Day celebrations.
In the supermarket you’ll get low prices on hot dogs, ground beef, and their buns, as well as ketchup, mustard, BBQ sauce, relish, and salad dressing. Bottled water and snacks such as chips, ice cream, popsicles, and soda will all have lower prices too. As always, add your coupons to score a home run.
When ordering online, the first thing to do is sign in. You may be able to score a discount by adding something to your cart and then abandoning it. By this I mean click out of the site. Sometimes retailers will try to lure you back to finish the order by offering a discount if you continue on to the checkout. This can sometimes take up to 24 hours, so if it is something you don’t need in a hurry, it can be worth the wait.
Enjoy these lazy, hazy days of summer and save!
